Valentine's Day is fast approaching.  Need a last minute reminder...er...gift idea?  These are a bit out of the ordinary, but a lot of fun.  Enjoy!

  • Seeing Red. For a fun family dinner on Valentine's Day prepare everything red or pink. Plan on some red meat or something with red sauce as your main entree, then get creative!  Potatoes (baked or mashed with red or pink food coloring), toasted bread (melt your butter and try some more food coloring), red Jell-O, beets (well, my kids wouldn't eat them) and to finish the evening...red tinted heart cake with pink icing, decorated with Xs and Os.

  • Hunka-Burnin' Love Pull out your sappiest CDs and make your hunk of burnin' love something to remind him of you (songs out the year you met, songs of the 80s, etc.).  If you've got kids, this can be a compilation of their favorites (helps if they have headphones to listen to it with).

  • In-Home Date Pick out a flick with a romantically happy ending.  (Why slow the momentum of the evening with a sniffy nose and tissue?  Your guy wants you happy!)  Some of my favorites that my hubby is sure to enjoy as well:  Romancing the Stone, Bull Durham, The Big Easy.  For kids, most any Disney movie will do.

  • Last Minute Made Special. Okay, so the day caught you by surprise.  Pick up a bag of candy and put it in the form of a big heart in the middle of the table, the kids' placemats or the coffee table.  If you're more daring and don't have kids/pets, leave a candy trail from the front door to your bedroom.

Getting Married Again - the first book in a series about the men and women who risk life and limb to defeat raging wildfires - is here!  Discover the sexy Silver Bend Hot Shots–Wildland Fire Fighters who work, train and love with a passion you'll treasure!  (Read an intro)  Available now!

Wouldn't it be great if we treated every day like Valentine's Day?
