Keeping On Track...but what track?

Heard about the Blaze proposals:
- Status: rejected
- Reason 1: the plot is made up mostly of internal elements, relationships and conflicts (more like a Superromance).
I love Brenda C to death, because that is so spot on. That's the way I was taught to write by Paula E.
- Reason 2: there is no big external story to fuel the fire of the relationship.
Fair enough.
- Irony: Supers/American didn't see me that way
- Learning: I totally respect Brenda C and am glad to hear confirmation of what I thought were my strengths. I need to target houses/lines where internal conflicts are favored over hugely complicated plots (not that I don't still need a strong plot). As far as I'm concerned, when they say "write what you know" it doesn't mean to write about sports if you play sports, it means write HOW you know how to write.
So, as Fleetwood Mac advised, "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow...yesterday's gone." Move on. Keep writing. My ST proposal is heading out the door this week to publishing houses so we'll see what I learn from them. And I'm writing both a paranormal proposal and a small town romance proposal (two different ends of the spectrum).
