It's time for a New Year's Resolution - figure out where my writing style/voice fits, where I'll be happy writing and jump start this stall.  On my to-do list for 2009:

Read-read-read:  everything from different Harlequin lines to single title.  If I can't get past the first chapter, the line isn't right for me.

Review: what's selling.

Write: try with Superromance again (maybe the stories weren't right for the new senior ed).

Critique: consider joining a critique group to keep me honest/writing/focused.

Opinions:  collect as many as possible in terms of possibilities - lines, houses, editors.

Do I have an easy year ahead of me?  No.  But I can't walk away from the writing, even if I end up only writing for me.

As Garth Brook says:  You've got to be tough when consumed by desire.  It's not enough just to stand outside the fire.
